I am happy with it
* * *Remembering "Ed's Rule" which is "If your happy with it, then it is right", It must have been right for me to attempt the decal project, because I was very pleased with the results of my first car. I finished it up this morning and took it right outside in the beautiful sunshine (at last) to take it's picture. I will bring it along to Ed and Brenda's Open House in case anyone else is interested in making up their own car.

Chat Help Page (new)
I am working on it as we progress. But I have started a Google CHAT HelpPage. Please see Page-3 under Blog Help. It is a combination of some material I came across on Google and our own experiences.
Live Chat attempt on Member Blog
John,
I oppologize for all the negative comments without giving you the congratulations you deserve for attempting this and so many other Blog ideas. Your enthusiam is wonderful and you deserve a great deal of praise for sticking with it.
As I mentioned in the chat some of us have very short fuses and it quite often shows. I didn't mean any disrespect for what you are attempting. With this day and age of the computer it is sometimes frustrating to have to make so many key strokes to accomplish something.
Keep up the GOOD WORK and don't let my, or anyone elses, comments disturb you and keep you from attempting to make the site useable, friendly and interesting.
Continued success,
Ed Smith (SCGRR)

I like to search 'images' on the web. This is up in Baxter state Park. It is just a guy sitting calmly down, but it just makes me shiver to look at it. click here:

Blog Help
I have been working on 'Blog Help' information. It is located at the top of the blog directly under the MGRS Logo and links to more details when you click on it. I would appreciate your feed back and suggestions. I am sure each person that looks at it will see something a little different.
Thank you,
John

I thought it was Great, How about you?
I am sure that everyone involved with Pat and Carl's Open House felt the same way. It was great to see old friends and meet new friends! This was my first year and Gigi and I had a great time! Lots of people worked real hard and the results where obvious to all! I talked to several people that 'look' at the blog and I want to encourage you to try and leave a comment. Just click on #comments and see how you do. Also vote on the 'Open House Poll' You can select as many answers as you like. I know some people like to 'vote' so here is a way to leave a little feedback. Once again as a new member, Thank you all again, especially Pat and Carl!

OK, I waited and no one posted, so here we are again. Watching NASCAR and blogging. Life is good. I had to check out my train today, to make sure she was ready to go to Carl's. Now if I can just pick up the box!
watch her go.

A day in the Garden without trains
Sorry, but sometimes that happens. It was a Beautiful Day! I love to take pictures (you know Picassa and web albums are perfect for me). But so is a peaceful day with the radio playing, the sunshine, sounds of water, flowers, even frogs! So I fed the fish and enjoyed the clouds and the blue sky. I hope you did too.
see slide show.
This evening we went to a band concert in town. A concert band from Portland (Italian Heritage Group) They had an orchestra sized group and were very good. A kind of funny thing happened. The conductor picks me out of the audience to come up an 'conduct' there final number. John Sousa's "duck song" I call it (how dis-respectful, I apologize). Anyway, I didn't embarrass myself to much and I gave him back the baton after a while and returned to my seat after having some fun. I also happened to have a shirt on that was the exact color of the band, it was kind of weird!

Worlds Largest Cruise Ship - Visits Portland ME.
Today this ship was docked at the Maine State Pier. It left Portland at 6:30 this evening. It is scheduled to visit again next month. Picture was copied off the Portland Head Light web cam about 7:30pm as the ship went by on its way out.

"Birds Eye View"
Something different for MGRS members. I got this from Mr and Mrs Deere and Ray liked it so much he suggested other members might like to see it too. It will not load a lot of stuff on your PC, maybe a viewer, but that is all. You should see a map that you can move your mouse onto and scroll in for closer views. Not all areas have 'Birds Eye' available, but when you get in close it may give you that as a choice to click on. Select Birds Eye and you will be amazed at the close up pictures you can see. Plus you can pick different views (N,S,E or W). It is low level photography of the area taken from helicopters or aircraft that really zooms right in. Like Ray said "Maybe you can find the layout in the back yard" Have fun ! Here is the link: http://maps.live.com/
Note: most areas are probably 2 years old.

Finally a little sunshine.
At last I got to run my trains (not Thomas and Trolly) but mine own. I think I will just enjoy them for a while. That is, before I try to connect the indoors to the outdoor. This year I will be happy to pack them up and bring them to an open house.
