Tree of Damocles

The storm last Sunday night left a 60-foot pine tree dangling over the bridge and buildings on the Vaguely Wiscasset & Quebec. The VW&Q crews have no clue how to get it down without taking the railroad with it. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Ooops, I tried to comment and it did not go. That is quite a dramatic picture. That was a very strong wind we had also, it did a little damage to our flag pole. As I said do not play around with it. That is an enormous weight, They do not call them "Widow Makers" without a good reason. Run away, call a pro.

Here is something else I was surprised at. I just Googled "Tree of Damocles" and I found (4th item down) Maine Garden Railway Society. Now that was pretty fast updating by Google!

If you can reach it, get some pruners, and cut each branch off one at a time, catching them as you go and carry them away.

Once you get to the trunk, cut off small peices and carry them away too.

Keep the peices you cut small enough that you can mangage them easily

Thanks for the comments. Eric, I'll try your approach.
