Anyone watch last night?

The fastest train in America or on the continent and it starts at Boston South Station.

A mere 135MPH Click here

It was a great show on Extreme Trains last night. They hold the speed down to 150 mph! The 'engine' is called a Power Car and has 6000HP. If anyone saw the show I will offer just one reasonably easy trivia question. What is a 'train set'?

I believe a "Train Set" is the locomotives and the cars of one consist. When they have to work on a loco or car they leave all attached.

Correct SCGRR They have 'semi permanent coupling' composed of 4 coaches, a cafe car and a 1st class car. Plus a Power Car at each end. Each car has a tilt control center. The train also has the fastest braking system "Elect Dynamic Braking" which actually put power back into the system so that another train can use it! 6Hrs 43min to Washington includes stops in New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore.

...and I always thought a train set is what you buy for the "kids" to run under the Christmas tree!

Yes Mr. Trainman, Wouldn't that be fun to travel. you only have to go to NY Penn Station to pass through the top speed area, a 39 mile stretch in Conn that they hit 151mph last night. I wonder what it costs?

After watching some videos, I decided I do not want to be a marble shooting down a drain pipe! I think traveling the distance of a football field in 1.3 seconds is not what I think of as relaxing. Book me on the slow traveling dinning car with sumptuous food and majestic views! Ahhhhhh. . .
