Just found some very old 8x10 black & white original photos of a train wreck in the White Mountains. These where from Brandons Great Great Grandfather who worked for the MEC in Portland . I do not remember the date or the exact location. Only 1 glossy & 11 matte pics.
I am posting a scan of the glossy & 1 matte. If any interest in more I will try to scan & post at a latter date. Amazing Stuff from older days. Mike ( P.S. would be Lucilles Grandfather)

Interesting. Anything written on the back or any dates? It looks like the wheels are ripped of the box car.
The man way down below the wreck looks like he is in a dangerous place.
These photos are interesting not only because of the wreck, but other sites that are also available. Like the underside of the car which you very seldom get to see. The caps of all the workmen dress in cover-alls. Interesting to see a mix of wood and steel sided box cars. Today you never would get away with open hooks without a safety clasp. Thanks for sharing these great photos!
wreck looks like between mp84 and evans house at base of mt willard, just east of gate way to crawford station. just a guess.

Mike,
Very interesting pics! Not sure what you want to do with these, but I would think that the 470 Club would be interested in at least seeing them. Incidentally, Paul Corbett is a member...
Hi Tiny, Merry Christmas to you too. Your guess sounds like an educated one. Just curious, How are you so familiar with the area?
thanks, John
Mike, I hope you decide to post more.
